Low right abdominal pressure/pain over 2 months, what should I ask the doctor for

Question

Female, age 29.  For the past two-three months (early Aug), I have experienced pressure/dull, sometimes burning mild pain in my low right abdomen, near my hip and radiates down my right leg. Thought it was a pulled muscle at first. I have lifelong chronic constipation that has been far worse in the past month, as well as menstrual irregularity treated with BCPs that is also worse.

I want to know the best way to check the possiblity of a mass/cyst/cancer in my intestine and reproductive organs.  I am asking here, because last time I went to the doctor was almost a year ago for something I’m not sure is related (chest pain, trouble breathing, nausea).  Took 3 visits: the first one I got no diagnosis or treatment, the second I received anxiety pills per my request,  finally a third visit where they asked if I wanted blood that came back all normal.  Then this April I find myself in urgent care due to lingering cough & severe nausea & acid reflux, got an upper chest xray and diagnosis of GERD, which maybe was bothering me for that entire time and the doctors I saw couldn’t diagnose.

So I just want to know what I should request to eliminate the possibility of a mass in the area causing me pain, as I’m worried I’ll get another 2 min appointment with a diagnosis of “nothing”, or a test that will he checking the wrong area of my body.  Xray?  Ultrasound? I dont have the kind of insurance that covers lots of tests, as I discovered last year.

  1. I understand your concern.
I suggest you get an ultrasound scan of whole abdomen done to see what is going on inside
